Carie Cole

Carie Cole, Watercolor Artist – graduated from the University of Denver in 1964 with a BA in elementary education. In that year she married her husband Jack, who was in the Air Force for thirty years. In 1970 Carie started oil painting classes with Air Force wives as her teachers at the Air Force Academy.  She continued with adult education classes in California. In 1981, Carie started watercolor with Margaret Huddy in Fairfax County adult education.

Carie’s favorite subjects are flowers and landscapes, seeing so much beauty and joy in nature. She loves the fluidity of watercolor and enjoys how the colors mix together especially on yupo paper. She has exhibited her work at the Fairfax County libraries, government centers, Goodwin House, Burke Family Practice, Green Springs, NOVA, and the Springfield Mall and has been commissioned to paint watercolors for private collectors. She paints three times a week with several groups, a member of the Springfield Art Guild, and is a member of The Loft Gallery in Occoquan.  She was selected to be a guest artist in the Vale Arts Show in October 2013.
