I am an oil painter from Burke, VA. Like most artists, I have loved art since I was old enough to hold a pencil. I did composite drawings/artists’ renderings for local police departments while still in high school then graduated from Eastern Michigan University with a minor in art. After college, I volunteered to teach oil painting to senior citizens in the community where I grew up. Seeing people discover their hidden talents and knowing I helped bring art into their lives was a wonderful experience. I was a special agent with the FBI. While working, I kept my hand in art by drawing for personal enjoyment and doing composite drawings.  After being away from painting for 25-years, I rediscovered the joy of painting when I retired.  Since retiring, I have taken classes from a number of very talented local artists and workshops from nationally known artists.

Joining the Springfield art guild has allowed me to meet and become friends with many wonderful artists. I am also a member of the Loft Gallery, 313 Mill St., Occoquan, VA.

I am intrigued with how the internet has become such a powerful tool for artists providing the opportunity to not only display our work, but allowing me to enjoy the work of talented artists all over the world.  I hope you enjoy my paintings.

You can find more of my work on my blog http://lydiajechorek.blogspot.com/ or at the Loft Gallery.
